India needs a right-wing TV channel
Narendra Modi walked out on Karan Thapar barely minutes into his appearence on the famous Devil's Advocate show. Interesting posts by RealityCheck and Offstumped on the topic.

The question is not whether Modi would be asked hardball questions, the question is at what point of time in the interview. Karan Thapar did not waste any time in small talk, coming to the point from the get go.

We thought it was very odd for Modi to agree to appear on Devil's Advocate. We don't get to see many other politicians who we would very much like to see in that chair. Is it possible that there was some sort of a deal that Karan Thapar wouldn't dwell on the controversial topics for long? Is that the reason Karan Thapar pounced on him from the very beginning so as to not to miss out on the opportunity? Did Modi walk out because CNN-IBN reneged on its promises? The last part of the interview was intriguing.

What India needs is a right-wing TV channel, not economically dependent on the ruling party and insulated from our oppressive media control policies. Ideological debates tinged with communal overtones will not get resolved anytime soon - but the public ought to know what's really going on in the country in the name of social justice.
