It is never too early to introduce kids to the idea of nationalism.
Hopefully, it's not too late.

Barb India celebrates 58th Republic Day..dnot know why CNN-IBN took a leap year forward n claims that our country is celebrating 59th..too future-struck, guess
Barb All of us, running through & scampering across the childhood, certainly would have felt the high burning streak of Nationalism....we were little heroes of the country, dreaming to do bigger things for the Mother land, the fervor of which dwindled, somehow, when grew up, could be other top priorities of life that replaced this reat ideology, the irresstible smugness, "why me, why cant he or she" kind of attitude...the more we were aware of varied things, the more we became dull n passive consumers of lifeism...n interestingly, we relive that lost Pride for the country n Nationalism throughour children....
We do not worship our heroes as much as we should. I think that's very much needed to instill a sense of pride in our kids & the future generations. It's not even like we'll have to fake it, we have enough national heroes to look up to. If you look at the western countries, they do a fine job of creating & projecting their heroes. Our Indian media seems to look down upon ourselves. Our Bollywood folks can take a cue from their Hollywood brothers.
