Before we get to the stories, a random observation - it's been a long time since we saw lead stories on CNN-IBN with pictures of hungry kids. Any ideas why?

Anyway.

Something happened in Kerala. Some headlines:

In particular:

The TOI version resorts to factual reporting, mentions only specific religious groups and identifies Congress. Mentions attack and clearly identifies the perps. although adding "alleged" to the headline dilutes the effect.

The CNN-IBN version has no mention of attack, implicates all religious groups, attempts at editorializing a news item (i.e. "students have taken cues from religious groups" - oh the poor impressionable babies, "Left Government needs to worry" etc.).

The NDTV version mentions violence deep inside the story without referring to the specifics ("Meanwhile, the youth and students outfits of opposition parties continued their protests across the state, which turned violent in some places."), long winded article, attempt at editorializing.
