The problem is Hindus rely too much on Govt. and rarely take law into their hands when such incidents happen - Yes, they express their "outrage" on blogs and at petitiononline.com. But that's about it. Life goes on.

Contrary to how people "of the book" interpret, Hindus are less concerned about their temples and idols. The so-called "pagans" and "idolators" know this much: At the end of the day, they are just that -- idols and temples. And scriptures aren't print material. They are a living philosophy. Hence Hindus don't pour into streets breaking public property or declare fatwas on perpetrators when their idols and temples are desecrated. For Hindus spirituality is beyond these physical objects which are nothing but starting points in their quest for spiritual awakening.

But the "people of book" really get outraged when their stone structures are hit or their books are dipped in oil - because their spirituality is confined to the book they print and the church/mosque they pray. That's about it - that is why their spiritual quotient is 0.

This too shall pass...
