Truck

There is something disturbing about blast injured being ferried in what looks like a filthy truck - not just anywhere, but in the country's largest and most financially important metro. Also known as the maximum city, where artists, writers, rich people, liberals, Bollywood etc. reside.

There is also something disturbing about that large and very important city's hospitals not being able to cope with perhaps 200 odd injured. Hospitals of a city of 12 million can't deal with 200 trauma victims?

Our condolences to the victims and their families. Stay safe.

. We aren’t winning, get that straight. This is not the hard and tortuous road to ultimate victory. This is the stinking purgatory of imminent defeat. Our nauseating display of moral superiority and the hollow ritual of chest thumping after every such defeat is symptomatic of a larger and more frightening disease. I call it a disease, some call it a disability – it is blindness. We are blind to reality. Reality that is a pile of bleeding corpses crammed in a truck. Reality that the value of life has been lost. Reality that rears its ugly head every once in a while, reminding us that the final blow is near. Reality that will soon swallow us and disfigure all that we hold sacred. We have lost our right to live and our will to protect.
