Isn't that a cute picture? As we predicted long ago, Congress and SP finally came out in the open with talks of their alliance.
Recently Sagarika begum wrote on her blog:
[Matyawati's] actions have almost achieved the unthinkable: the Congress and the Samajwadi party inching closer together in an attempt to dislodge a "common enemy".Why is this so unthinkable? These secular journos seem to dwell in an alternative universe. What do they think of the Congress party? Just because there are a few phoren educated dudes in designer suits does not make the party "sophisticated". Just look at who contests from Pandit Nehru's old constituency on a Congress ticket. Even in Gujarat Congress fielded the most number of criminals for the last assembly elections. This is hardly new for the party, they are known to gravitate towards the basest elements in politics.
We wonder where this puts the Bachchans.
Okay, here is the grossest item (clean chit to SIMI etc. notwithstanding) we heard about Amar Singh recently - if you know a better one, please post a comment. Recently, Amar Singh & Co. opened a women's college in UP and named it after Aishwarya. This was a bit surprising, protocol demands the college be named after Jaya or better still after the dearly departed Tejaji. But you could argue Aishwarya is more of a role model for young women these days. But here comes the shocker - Amar Singh built a new mansion for himself and also named it after Aishwarya!
Shocking.
