So, people from our friendly neighborhood Bhutan got their day in the Sun as they lined up to cast their votes in the first ever elections held in the country. Given the stellar record of democracy in the region, it is anybody's guess how this thing is gonna pan out.Not long ago, our grandparents had a similar experience. Many had perhaps expected that their grandkids would grow up in a land free of dogma and arbitrary rules, most of all free from feudal lords. Alas, that was not to be. About six decades later, true democracy still eludes us, and how! The most telling failure of our democracy is the complete selling out of our "intellectuals".
People from Bhutan, if you are reading this, time for you to go back to your history and sociology books and dig up every differences that you can. Dig up tales of historic oppression, fancy folklores of invasion, however tenuous. Democracy can be fun too, only if you know how to play it.

yup...it could be to their advantage if they dont fall for the bait of these very feudal lords who are governing them, promising them a democratic environment.
Hello
You have got a nice blog! There is a problem though. I couldn't find any way to search your archive. It's annoying to manually go through several months. Please add a search box to the layout of your blog. Here is a link to a ordinary search box that you can add to your Blogger layout.
