The Naga Lawyers’ Guild, Delhi, has served a legal notice to the management of a lounge bar in GK-1 for allegedly refusing entry to a Naga woman photographer because she did not have the "right profile". [...] Bar owner Kashif Farooq, however, said he was yet to receive any legal notice. He denied the charges against the management saying, "Profiling is based on dress and behaviour and not region". [...] The photographer was to meet two friends - a South Indian publisher and a German employee of a development bank - at Urban Pind. "I was stopped at the gate because I did not have a good profile," she said. [link]Also read CNN-IBN coverage of the same incident. Notice anything?

The Urban Pind guys are lucky that its a broadbased protest with people from across all communities protesting peacefully. If it had become a North-easterners versus them, community issue there might be some politicians from the region who might jump in . Its a clear cut issue of Racism and wrong profiling. If people who go to night clubs cannot fight you cannot expect someone without any connections or resources to lead this fight. It was a lovely experience at the protest, in fact all those people who consider themselves Indians should be there.Racism against any Indian from any region is racism against all Indians. Its funny that the owner himself belongs to a minority which experiences all kinds of discrimination, should be so insensitive to another minority.I guess its more about economic class and bending over backwards to please the "Expats".Thats how you become "Exclusive".
