So the secular buggers are yelping like kicked pariah dogs, after Sushma Swaraj gave them a taste of her own version of Dum Dum dawai. Under normal circumstances, Ms. Swaraj's statements are highly offensive and objectionable, but then again you wanna argue if these are normal circumstances? Be our guest (hint: large bundles of currency notes being flashed in Parliament, Amar Singh etc.). At least two BJP oriented blogs (Chindu and Offstumped) excoriated Ms. Swaraj's statements in no uncertain terms.
But such courtesy was not extended by the intellectual Junta post Sonia Gandhi's Maut ka Saudagar remark. Amar Singh uttered the phrase "communal forces" so many times that the fella might have developed a toothache from it.
The fact remains that the extended family has always resorted to the most vulgar rhetoric. The list of their victims is long - starting from Dr. Ambedkar to Babu Jagjivan Ram to the latest - Mayawati (a recent CNN-IBN comedy show made the most vulgar allusions to her appearance, Tehelka's Mintty Tejpal also made similar remarks in the past). Let us not even mention the most offensive remarks made about a certain set of people day in and day out. Now they are suddenly nice, working for "national interest" and ardent believers of "economic growth".
The media and the intellectuals must share at least a part of the blame for the recent dreadful attacks. The sheer scale of the attack and the meticulous planning behind it suggests the involvement of at least several dozen operatives. This would not have been possible without the aid of the media's constant flashing of terrible images and constant reopening of wounds. The Tehelka Sting finally bore its deadly fruit.
Shortly after the attacks, CNN-IBN had Mallika Sarabhai on call. She said something about humanity and insensitivity and then mentioned a couple of key incidents from 2002. Then she said, "perhaps about two hundred or three fifty or a thousand women were raped ...". Even if one were to disregard the statistics, how do you explain such casual statements?
What Mallika Sarabhai, Rajdeep Sardesai, Sagarika Ghose and countless other intellectuals want to say is that Ahmedabad deserved this attack. It is just that they don't have Sushma Swaraj's guts.
So, after dozens of attacks, lots of editorializing, politicking, indignation, discussions, analysis paralysis etc. etc., the only big question is: will they consider it even, now?

I have always respected SushmaJi, but she should not have spoken words like america-parasti or muslim votes, because I believe that had the BJP been in power, they would have whole-heartedly supported the N-Deal. After all it was Vajpayee who took the wise decision of Pokhran-2. What this smells of is just political advantage taking of the tragedies that happened. Sushmaji has cast doubt on the patriotism of the UPA govt., which is plain wrong.
Let us not get ahead of us here. After being thoroughly convinced by Prof. Kalam, SP now wants the Hyde act amended.
You know what that means, don't you?
these are certainly no ordinary times when a high court judge has to say 'illegal bangladeshis are the kingmakers in assam'.

the other two blogs you pointed out criticizing sushma - these guys wonder why is it that the Hindus are always at the receiving end. and they valiantly speak of standing up and fighting. but when one lady shows the courage to do that, they chicken out and get all nice. remind me the next time i see something about standing up, fighting etc.
"but when one lady shows the courage to do that, they chicken out and get all nice. remind me the next time i see something about standing up, fighting etc."
Thank you. You put that in words more beautifully that we could ever hope for.
Anyone for "introspection" etc.? Isn't this the problem always? We want to catch the fish but don't get wet.
Well,I too feel that given the circumstances - as you say rightly - are not normal, the 'theory' can not be discounted at the outset.
Present day 'allies' are capable of doing anything, and each one of them has 'high stakes' in keeping/retaining power for not so noble reasons.
At least I won't be 'surprised' if it proves true.
Once again you are absolutely right about the MSM and more than 80% blame for 'communalising' each and every issue. POST Cash Gate - Hide the Tape scandal, involving Padam Vibhushan SHRI RAJDEEP SAR DESAI (what a blot on his father Dilip Sardesai's fair name!)the role MSM play is 'exposed'.
I firmly believe that these 24X7 channels are proving 'decremental' to the National Interests. No wonder,India would do better with out them, even if for some years, till the war on terror is decisively won.
PI.
Exactly my point. If Godhra Trains are suggested to have been burnt by Hindus themselves so that they can go about killing Muslims Then why isn’t it possible for Kangressi’s to go about bombing BJP state’s to tarnish Law&Order record of BJP state governments.
On a slightly related note, do you know that SIMI is represented by Salman Khurshid (Sonia’s left hand) in Supreme Court. Can I suggest you that you do a post on those people who have supported SIMI poltically, morally, legally or otherwise.
"the only big question is: will they consider it even, now?"
It's not going to happen. Only when Modi is put away these "perhaps about two hundred or three fifty or a thousand women were raped ..." - what a range, I am sure she is very accurate to the T - will slow down. Remember all the terror attacks since and before Godhara killings were in vengeance. One incident, just because it was Gujarat, doesn't make it even....
Let us not get blindly carried away. Everyone has a right to say what they wish to and to disagree with what others say. I to was distressed by the serial blasts. But to speak like Sushma Swaraj did is digraceful. And, she hopes to be PM one day too. In fact Modi has emerged taller, even statesman like. He did not make a single irresponsible statement. I thibk he ready for bigger things.
Barbar, The fact remains that the extended family has always resorted to the most vulgar rhetoric. The list of their victims is long - starting from Dr. Ambedkar to Babu Jagjivan Ram...
Have you forgotten Sitaram Kesri? The current PM had a hand in his ouster and stood silent as the venerable olf man was thrashed by Congress thugs. Kesri, who would not let his children work for the public sector lest he be accused of nepotism was thrown out like trash by the 1st family.
