Civil war

Bodo women and children at a relief camp

Anther civil war is on in Assam, between Bodo tribals and Bangladeshi immigrants. The body count is about the same as Orissa, but no one seems to be interested. The story disappeared from the headlines faster than you could say "Kandhamal'.

Looks like the Bodos were at the receiving end, by a wide margin. Our sympathies, unless you people can connect it up with the secular party's electoral fortunes, you are out of luck. See if you can somehow link up Bajrang Dal or VHP into the mix - something like, because of the Hindutva parties' hate campaign the Bangladeshi people in Dhaka got paranoid and decided to invade Assam and attack Bodos. It is a stretch, but worth a try.

Absolutely.
Just look at the HT's 'Banner Line Story'.
2nd lead story 'Bodos clash Muslims (not Bangla Deshis!)

And the most loyal 'serpent' of Her Majesty SpinIndia Express refers "Migrant Muslims"...implying Indian Muslims from other states or Assam resident Muslims settled in these three districts!!!???

Only Pioneer in its banner Story call it "Bodo-Bangladeshis" - but then it is a 'Communal' newspaper ,isn't it? :)

Now barabar, I read and watch all this and wonder... who these people are fooling? And why?

Believe me atleast I find it helping our cause, i.e the rightist's cause. You might disagree but my reasons to feel so are...
1. These 'secularists' -though very vocal and highly visible - have a very limited constituency i.e fellow secularists and TV studios. Their audience (English speaking Middle Class) is not at all that much 'guilable' as we fear.Especially these days when they see their near and dear ones being blown in to bits rather too frequently. Post Jamia encounter and MCS's brave act, people are furious with these people. I live in Delhi and happen to meet lots of people on daily basis, i have yet to meet a person who is not fuming and waiting to draw blood - electorally of course. There fore the more they (Secularists) shout the more they make (floating, undecided voters) firm up their resolve.

2.People have been watching in dismay the way Secular Politicians ranging from Kapil Sibal to the disgusting Amar Singh play up to the Muslim Galleries. Most of them - even my ten year old daughter who just saw Amar Singh on TV using gutter language for MCS in Muslim Jamia, reacted angeriely - then trust me my friend how others must be feeling.

Good let all secularists strip down for all to see what they are. They are making our job easy.
