Actually I was not surprised at all. The Indian system of democracy is totally open to the "tyranny of the majority".
A loose group of landlords, large farmers, political vested interests, form themselves into an ill defined and statistically unmonitored grouping called OBCs.
Neither their claim to past oppression nor their current backwardness is allowed to be measured in any form.
The tyranny of the majority as practised in India results in both ends of the spectrum turning radical. You have naxalism at one end the victimization of so-called forward castes at the other.
To counter this needs a new strategy.
* Approach the judiciary and demand to conduct a study of OBCs. As we know any study of OBCs will indicate large scale malpractise and wrong classifications.
* Press for a demand for a statistical study at every opportunity (eg, everytime the media talks to us). This must be a razor sharp one-point demand.
* Somehow get some MP to ask this question on the floor of the house. Maybe Sidhu can raise the demand for a study.

I am no fan of quotas but neither am I a firm opposer
I just haven't been able to make up mind...
But it's a sad day to see the country divided on caste lines.....

More later..
Hey why end of round ??
Come on carry on.
Nice to see someone being so logical and factual (without kicking and crying like the commies) about why reservations suck bigtime!!
Barbarindian is logical? You just redefined logic, my friend.
Yep, much more logical and factual than your friends, the dilips, annies and the commie goonda gang at otherIndia.
If you find this hard to digest, you just redefined dumb.
Of course. Never denied I was dumb. But not dumb enough to think of barbarindian as logical. That would require one to be really dumb.
Maybe I shall achieve that level of stupidity too, someday. Then we can both be in favour of BarbarIndian, eh?
