54% Hindu upper-caste folks believe reservations will lead to equal opportunities.
Ok, so what happened to the casteist ba****ds here? If the majortity of Hindu upper-caste members believe in reservations and strongly support it, doesn't the credibility of workplace discriminations go out the door?
Of course, the barbarians are a small minority group even within the minority (12%) upper-caste group who believe that all reservations should be done away with and Article 15 restored to version 1.0 (yeah, the 3 clause pre-first amendment version) .
Now, another interesting graphic:

32% OBCs do not believe that reservations create equal opportunity.
The percentage of OBCs is a max of 52%. Hence, the percentage of OBCs in the total population that may require reservations (of course, some of them will say they need it anyway, like Dr. Ramadoss), is about 35%. Recall that the estimated percentage of OBCs in premier educational institutes is about 23.5% (for IITs the figure is quoted between 8 and 20% depending on which side you are). Even without factoring out the Ramadoss types, we have a very minor shortfall in OBC representation. As opportunities increase and the economy expands (which is beginning to look less and less likely with all the communist speak), this shortfall will decrease and ultimately disappear.
Sadly, we will still continue to have reservations.

i am supposed to be a statistician but am writing this after only a quick glance at the numbers....so caution advised + these are going to be really boring comments!
1) Don't know who did this survey and which areas were covered but with a not-so-large sample the 57% can be statistically less than the mentally-comforting 50%. In other words, the 57% could be associated with a large margin of error.
2) In am also really interested in knowing what base the figures have been extrapolated to? So if they went to 100 people and asked their opinion, it could well happen that the upper castes declined to even respond (a non-response error), while all the lower castes responded. Now, you need to correct this imbalance by projecting these proportions to their true base. What true base is available? i thought the 52% bandied by the govt. itself is fictitious. If that was the base used to project these numbers to, the whole survey becomes baseless (literally!)
3) Another very very likely source of bias - that i've encountered extensively while doing survey research - the lower-castes would never fear giving you their opinion but upper castes?...well..."who knows, this interviewer may be sent by Udit Raj...let me just say i support reservations"
4) Lastly, if all is fine i actually find the 57% encouraging. If the lower castes were 76% - round that off to 80% to include SC/STs who are Christians etc. - and take that all upper castes are against reservation (very fair assumption), then this means that close to a third of even the lower castes do not favour reservation!
whatever your analaysis and surveys, one thing is sure that upper castes have showm their true face like the Janus. Come what may the depressed will have their share of India, that has been denied to them for thousand of years.
