The people are expressing a very strong resentment towards the system in general and politicians in particular. Many are demanding President's rule.
Here are some preliminary thoughts:
The politicians are essentially a product of the system itself, unless the system is defined and its malaise diagnosed, the cure may end up being worse than the disease. Whether terror attacks are ideological in nature and whether they are preventable are debatable issues. What is not debatable is that across the world and throughout history the set of geo-political entities that have been able to provide the best care for its citizenry share certain common features. These features are collectively known as the free market system.
These countries also provide the best welfare for their citizens, not only in quantitative but qualitative terms.
Incident after incident, tragedy after tragedy, our response has been to demand an ever bigger Government. This has led to the grotesque imbalances such as obscene amounts having been spent on security for politicians while the police force of the entire city of Bombay have only 500 WWII model rifles.
Unless we have a well defined objective and a model in place, it is futile to overthrow the democratic system violently or non-violently.
- Demand that the constitution be rolled back to its original form and be locked down for a decade.
- Demand that education be freed from the clutches of the state .
- Demand that commercial entities be allowed to enter into private agreements with land owners and farmers.
- Demand that the Government immediately exit from all commercial enterprise.
- Demand that the Government stops providing subsidies to charitable organizations of any hue.
- Demand that the Government stop appropriating land.
