Don't let those small gray areas fool you. Basically the entire Pakistan except the Sindh and Punjab provinces are in trouble. As Rushdie famously said recently, Balochistan wants to get away as well. The various multi-party ethnic conflicts, LeT, Taliban, Army etc. thrown into the mix simply boggles the mind. For a sampler of the kind of human rights violations take place read this article.
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Taliban militants are beheading and burning their way through Pakistan's picturesque Swat Valley, and residents say the insurgents now control most of the mountainous region outside the lawless tribal areas where jihadists thrive.
The deteriorating situation in the former tourist haven comes despite an army offensive that began in 2007 and an attempted peace deal. It is especially worrisome to Pakistani officials because the valley lies away from the areas where al-Qaida and Taliban militants have traditionally operated and where the military is staging a separate offensive.
"You can't imagine how bad it is," said Muzaffar ul-Mulk, a federal lawmaker whose home in Swat was attacked by bomb-toting assailants in mid-December, weeks after he left. "It's worse day by day." [link]
All this trouble will naturally make its way into India somehow or the other. Call it gravity, osmosis, seepage - many T-Shirt deprived youth will eventually make their way into India in the near future.
A sample of cognitive dissonance:
The caption from the AP News photo says (above):
Pakistan shifted forces east following the Mumbai attacks.
From CNN-IBN Fact and fiction about Indo-Pak war talk:
Rumour: Pakistan has moved troops away from its Western border with Afghanistan to the East to threaten India.
Fact: No movement of Pakistani troops away from Afghanistan border other than routine.
Like we said before, there are definitely UFOs involved in this bizarre game.
