A major fire tragedy in Hemkunt Express (Train number 4610) was averted late on Sunday evening when certain miscreants sprinkled kerosene in a bogie. The matter was kept under wraps by the Railway authorities. An emergency alert was sounded and an alleged attempt of sabotage was averted, railway sources said on Tuesday.Train, fire, kerosene, pilgrims etc. You know the drill.
The Government Railway Police and Railway Protection Force (RPF) have started a joint probe into the incident. "It would have been another disaster had the passengers not reported the matter to the police," said a senior official of Northern Railways.
Hemkunt Express runs between Rishikesh (near Hemkunt Sahib) in Uttarakhand and Jammu Tawi. Sri Hemkunt Sahib is a holy site of the Sikhs in Uttarakhand and the train passes through the famous Hindu pilgrim centre of Haridwar. [link]
Lalu's railways, as always. Event the recent terror attack had a major component of railways. Not that we are suggesting anything.

Its the people who part with their hard-earned money for moving from A to B in dirty trains, It's the people who stay on something almost like a VIGIL, It's the people who detect pre-planned destructive acts....it's the people who die ...what do these idiots at the helm of country matters do?

PI,
There have been other cases of train fires that were a bit suspicious, as well as the increased temple stampede cases. Even if there was no foul play, the Government is certainly not protecting the citizens there. But we do not see as much hues and cries.
For all their bloviation, the media will not even transmit a few lines of public safety messages. Have to check this but, are they highlighting how the captured militant is repentant and wants to meet his mother? Good story, no?
