So, an Iraqi journalist threw shoes at the US President at a press conference and became a hero. The video of the incident is all over the web.

Actually there is nothing funny about this.

The security implications of this are grave. The slow reaction of President Bush's security detail shows just how unexpected this was. Now it adds another layer of headache for security agencies, as if there are not enough nuts in the world already without a journo starting to behave like one.

Believe it or not, this incident will send alarm bells ringing in the Indian VIP security establishment. We have already lost a Prime Minister to an unexpected attack. We also have journalists of similar temperament.
